In case of a bigger breakdown within the pipeline operation TAL uses an emergency plan which exists for all three pipelines. This plan provides measures and instructions in case of a damage. The responsible authority delegate decides together with TAL about the measures to be taken.

Once a year several exercises for an emergency simulation are executed with official specialized staff together with TAL personnel.

General instructions of behaviour in case of a damage are as follows:

	keep calm
	Safety has priority
	First protection of man, second protection of subjects
	Avoid obstacles or distraction of the emergency staff
	Follow the instructions of the emergency staff
