else: ?>The modernization and enlargement works of the fire fighting system have been completed after three years and an investment of 8.5 millions.
Lenting, 10 April 2019 – The final test of the renovated fire protection system at the Lenting Tank Farm has been carried out successfully. A positive outcome at the end of the upgrading and extension project that started in 2016, carried out by TAL on the seven crude oil tanks in Lenting with an investment of about 8.5 million euros.
«We have laid over five kilometres of new fire extinguishing lines carrying water and foaming agent – explained Dirk Strack, Technical Assets Director TAL Germany – 22 new large fire hydrants have been added, triplicating in this way the pumps’ capacity. Thanks to the new water basin that can be used in case of fire, we have doubled the quantity of water available».
With the support of the fire brigades of the nearby Gunvor and Bayernoil refineries as well as the OMV Burghausen, TAL has tested the maximum working load of the fire protection system. By efficiently using high-performance mobile fire fighting water cannons and owing to the collaboration of the firemen, TAL is able to intervene promptly in order to reduce the environmental impact in case of an emergency. The close collaboration with Ingolstadt, Lenting and Kösching fire brigades and their operational readiness further ensure safety at the tank farm.
