A partnership that started many years ago based on a shared vision: the need to constantly work together for the protection of the marine environment and to create synergies in the Gulf of Trieste, where sport activities can merge with industry and tourism. A partnership between Barcolana – the largest sailing race in the world – and TAL Group, that has been going on for over ten years and continues to grow year after year.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the regatta, TAL Group has been entrusted with the role of Ambassador and supports the event with several activities. The aim is to promote the Barcolana in Austria and Germany, the other countries, apart from Italy, where TAL Group operates.
“We would like to thank TAL Group – said Mitja Gialuz, President of the Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano – for their daily effort in supporting Trieste’s local economy and for helping us promote the Barcolana in two strategic countries such as Austria and Germany. Every year over one hundred sailors coming from these two countries take part in the race. They are both boat owners who keep their boats in the Adriatic all year round and sailing lovers who usually sail on lakes but once a year come to Trieste with their small boats to take part in the Barcolana. For this reason it is very important for us to be able to present our event here and let people feel closer.”
“We are very pleased to support Barcolana – said president of TAL Group Alessio Lilli – it is a moral value for our company to do something in the areas where it operates, and TAL is committed to bridging and creating relations between Friuli Venezia Giulia, Austria and Bavaria. This enables us to act locally every day, interacting with local communities, dialoguing with authorities contributing with our know-how to the benefit of citizens”.
The TAL Group is present in Barcolana, in particular, with initiatives safeguarding the future of our seas: in a moment in which the protection of the marine environment is at risk worldwide, Barcolana wants to convey a clear message with this year’s poster, created by artist Marina Abramovic: “We are all in the same boat“, a motto that calls for commitment and effort to protect the marine environment and fight against plastic rubbish floating in the oceans.
