TAL successfully completes the external audit on energy management

TAL Germany has completed the energy audit for the year 2023. This marks the third energy audit conducted for the company’s sites in the Federal Republic; the company received a positive final report in both 2019 and 2015. “The energy audit is an important part of our energy management verification. We strive to use the required energy as efficiently as possible to make the operation of the pipeline environmentally sustainable,” says Alessio Lilli, General Manager of the TAL Group.

The routine examination process includes inventory and analysis of energy consumption data as well as the development of potential optimization measures, including an economic calculation by an external auditor. By the end of 2023, on-site inspections were conducted at various TAL locations in Germany, and detailed operating data on energy consumption were obtained.

Additionally, TAL duly submitted an online energy audit declaration to the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA). The federal supervisory authority is part of the “Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection” and is responsible, among other things, for verifying compliance with the energy audit obligation under the EDL-G.

The “Act on Energy Services and Other Energy Efficiency Measures” (EDL-G) has mandated an “energy audit” every four years since 2015. Energy audits as well as energy and environmental management systems are key instruments for identifying and implementing energy efficiency measures. These assist companies in reducing their energy consumption and associated costs.

In the future, energy audits will be conducted “in-house”: According to ISO 50001, TAL Germany is already in the process of establishing its own energy management system (EnMS), which will be certified by an external auditing body.

The new TAL Safety Enhancement Program was presented to the employees and local partner companies during the Safety event held on the 5^th of March in Hopfgarten in Defereggen.

The HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) excellence is one of pillars of TAL strategy that aims to consolidate the safety culture and the awareness not only of the employees but also of partners (contractors).
The TAL Safety Culture Enhancement Program was launched last year in order to enhance the commitment and to improve the safety performances in all countries by integrating the traditional safety approach with the Behaviour Based Safety (BBS), a proactive strategy that pursues life-saving behaviour in all areas of the company, motivating people to recognize their actions’ impact on safety and encouraging employees to adopt safe behaviours by leveraging on their sensitivity in order to eliminate hazards, prevent accidents and foster general workplace safety.

“Safety has always been firmly anchored in our corporate culture as a fundamental value. We want our people return home healthy” emphasis TAL General Manager Alessio Lilli in his welcome speech, adding that “Zero accident is our goal”.

“One of the cornerstones of TAL is safety at work. Having worked with the company for many years, it is also essential for us to support these principles and live them in our own company. After all, all employees should return home safe and sound to their families at the end of the day. Accidents at work not only cause a great deal of suffering for those affected, but also result in economic costs. In order to achieve optimum workplace quality, all existing hazards and health risks for employees must be systematically identified and assessed. I would like to take this opportunity to praise the company for organizing this year’s Safety Day. Thanks to the excellent presentation and the deeply emotional experience of dr. Before closing the event, TAL General Manager Alessio Lilli and all the contractors signed the Safety Pact in order to commit strongly to respect safety rules and procedures, to adopt TAL HSSE Standards, to improve safety leadership and to raise awareness of each worker because “HEALTH and SAFETY, it’s me!”
