Regular maintenance of the facilities is a top priority for the safe and sustainable operation of the TAL. This year, a comprehensive inspection of the tank in Jochberg is on the agenda. The Work will start in September 2023 and be completed by the end of October 2023. During the inspection, which takes place every 15 years, the tank will be emptied, opened, cleaned and then inspected for corrosion and other defects. The cleaning work is scheduled to take place between 3 September and 8 September 2023 (week 36).

When the tank is emptied and cleaned, hydrocarbon gases are naturally produced. These gases will be burned in an environmentally friendly way in a modern flare system. The flame from the flare is visible, especially at night.The work is supervised by TÜV experts and is carried out using the latest technology and in strict compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.However, it cannot be ruled out that odour and noise emissions may occur in the immediate vicinity of the tank for a short period of time during the overhaul. If you notice the smell of crude oil, there is no health risk. TAL appreciates the understanding of local residents for any temporary inconvenience.
