TAL Germany increases the flow capacity of the pipeline
else: ?>Up to 7,500 cubic meters of crude oil per hour will soon be able to flow through the German section of the Transalpine Pipeline. The previously permitted throughput rate is 6,400 cubic meters per hour.
The granting of the permit was announced during a government talk between Prime Minister Markus Söder and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala as the increase in flow capacity ensures the Czech Republic’s energy supply.
“We’re proud that, from a technical point of view, the TAL Group is able to respond quickly, safely and efficiently to changes in the market” explains Alessio Lilli, TAL General Manager.
This measure is based on a study carried out internally within the TAL Group. During the preparatory work for the approval, detailed investigations into the hydraulics, discharge volumes, monitoring systems and other improvements were accomplished and discussed with experts, proving that the changes do not have any negative impact on the safety of the pipeline and therefore no negative impact on the environment.
Once all the necessary test runs have been completed, TAL will be ready to transport larger quantities of crude oil from Trieste to the central Europe.
